Hello!

Are you looking for a last-minute outfit this holiday season? In honor of New Year’s, I have put together a simple but glamorous holiday-themed outfit to show you.

This post will probably be shorter than usual, but you should get the idea!

Taking pictures at night with Christmas lights was a challenge, but I think we pulled it off!

My mother and I visited the Oakland California Mormon temple, which is noted for its extensive Christmas decor every year. I mean, take a look at the palm trees and tell me it didn’t take many man hours to wrap the lights around each one individually!

Even the Lamb was awed at his surroundings!

I’m wearing:

Sequin blazer — Amazon

Turtleneck — Zara

Trousers — Yesstyle

Block-square heels — Yesstyle

Layered necklace — Forever 21

Last-Minute New Year’s Outfit Ideas

You might be familiar with this scenario: you need an outfit for a New Year’s celebration that still reminisces of Christmas but it has to be a little more New Year’s oriented than Christmas. Well, here I have some suggestions on how to put something together quickly — and it doesn’t have to be difficult! Here are the things I kept in mind as I put together a look for this photoshoot:

  • Color-code your clothes with a Christmas palette. I’m thinking red (lipstick), green (trousers), gold (necklace), and maybe even silver (bag) to stand out against the night sky and my black turtleneck and blazer.
  • Add some shiny sequins. I went all out with the turtleneck, the bag, and the blazer. Normally I save my blazer for the most glamorous occasions like a big party or clubbing, but this time I dressed it up with a classic turtleneck to give it an interesting twist, and voila!
  • Keep it simple. For makeup I just slabbed on some eyebrow color and some bright red lipstick. And if you look at my outfit, you’ll see that I stuck to timeless staples that I can reuse at any other time of the year. Alternatively, if you want to trade in the trousers for a dress, I suggest a slip-on from Banana Republic or a sequin dress from Windsor.

I hope your Christmas went well, and I hope this gave you some ideas for New Years! As always, let me know in the comments what you think of my outfit idea.
